Volkswagen Jetta Exteriors - Sophisticated elegance is what the Volkswagen Jetta’s theme is, and the car’s design pulls it off effortlessly. The ample ground clearance is the first thing that strikes you, and makes the car look taller than it is. The height, combined with the city-car wheelbase and length do make the Volkswagen Jetta look somewhat not contemporary, but the dimensions have greater uses. The styling is conservative compared to its rivals, but the car is fabulous to look at from some angles. The strip of chrome running around the pillar arches accentuates the sensible yet beautiful curve, and becomes the standout feature of the car from profile. The top-end variant of Volkswagen Jetta does get the beige treatment which lends it an up market look. But the base models make do with a combination of grey and black interiors which look dull. But rest assured quality levels have not suffered and everything right down to the little buttons work with a tactile feel. Some plastic bits feel a bit cheap, but overall, this cabin still impresses with sheer quality. The Volkswagen Jetta offers decent space for the passengers. Headroom and legroom for the front passengers is good and rear seat can seat two people comfortably since the transmission tunnel intrudes and hampers legroom for the centre passenger. The sloping roofline means that taller passengers may feel a little cramped for headroom. Boot space however, is massive. The base model ‘Trendline’ gets all the goodies like power steering, power windows, central locking, keyless entry, electric mirrors, rear defogger, four airbags and ABS as standard. The top-end ‘Comfortline’ gets automatic climate control, DSG automatic transmission and two additional airbags.

Volkswagen Jetta Ride and Handling – The Volkswagen Jetta shares a lot of mechanicals with the Skoda Laura. As a result, it has also inherited excellent road manners. The ride is a touch stiff at slow speeds, but gets better as the speeds build up. At highway speeds, there isn’t much that this Volkswagen Jetta  can’t handle. The steering is well weighted and provides good feedback as well. Grip levels are good and this inspires the driver to throw the car into corners and will certainly bring a smile on your face after a drive in the hills.
