I seriously doubt if one would believe it coming from the same platform as of the Innova. The vehicle is tall and intimidating to say the least. The flowing lines and curves at the sides add to the beauty. The powerful headlamps are curved around the grille to create a mesmerizing effect. Moreover, the fog lamps housed on the large bumpers calls for attention. The beautifully crafted roof rail accentuates the good looks of the SUV. The same cool look is maintained at the rear end with the large tail lamps. The car runs on 17 inch alloy wheels which gets the car a solid sporty look.
Toyota Fortuner Interiors: The interior of Toyota Fortuner looks classy and pleasant. The 3 circle instrument cluster with a metal ring around the one in the centre (speedometer) is efficient and pleasing to the eye. The interior pretty much reminds me of the Innova’s interior except that you are perched higher. The addition of third row AC vents is a thoughtful inclusion but they could have added it to the second row too. The dashboard looks sexy and the built quality is superb making you feel that the Toyota Fortuner is much costlier than it is actually. A 6 CD, 2-DIN, MP3 with AUX music player which is just excellent and AC dials forms rest of the front. The rear seats are foldable and the seating comfort is excellent. The 3rd row passengers is perched the tallest and it may be a little getting used to. In simple words the interior can be described as minimalistic yet an elegant and practical cabin. There is ample of legroom with comfortable sitting for seven persons in three rows of seat. The seats come with six-directional adjustment. The third row can be folded sidewise to accommodate more luggages.
Toyota Fortuner Ride and Handling: In the driver’s seat you feel daunted driving this beast. But once you get acquainted you feel right at home. The tall seating position of Toyota Fortuner with bucket seats and thigh support provides a good view as well as comfortable seating positions. The steering feels right and is a nimble handler. One point I do feel disappointed is the engine noise of the SUV. Even with the windows closed you could hear the engine roar and not the kind of music to the ears. But the ride and handling of the car is very pleasant. Toyota Fortuner Safety Features: Toyota Fortuner has also got excellent safety features like traction control, bigger - better disc brakes and vehicle stability control. The one thing I found missing in this car is the TRACTION CONTROL which should have been provided. This SUV has a Brawny body with a Full time 4WD and with features like Climate tronic AC system. But I felt that the car is very Sluggish and is Priced Higher in Comparison to Captiva & Endeavour.
