Skoda Octavia is a solid build, luxurious sedan that offers remarkable performance and fuel efficiency. Skoda Octavia is powered by a 1.8 litre Turbocharged I-4 petrol engine that pumps out 150 bhp and a 1.9 litre TDCi diesel engine that generates power of 90 bhp. Skoda Octavia Engine and performance: The engine is the best point of the Skoda Octavia. It is a 1.9-liter indirect injection turbo-charged diesel engine. It pumps out a decent 90 bhp of power at 4000 rpm. Torque is a formidable 21 kgm, at as low as 1800 rpm. The engine isn’t very refined at idle, but is okay at higher speeds, there are vibrations in the car but they are minimal. This engine of Skoda Octavia is among the better diesels in this country, with decent performance. The Skoda Octavia accelerates eagerly. The 60-km/h mark comes in less than 5 seconds; it touched the ton in around 11-12 seconds, which is quite good for a diesel model. But The Corolla still remains the quickest in its class. The Skoda Octavia reaches a maximum speed of 180-odd km/h. If you compare this to its rivals, the Skoda Octavia stays behind, but it more than makes up for this with its fuel economy. In short it has a Punchy diesel engine and a decent performance.

Skoda Octavia Exteriors: The instant appeal I got from the Skoda Octavia’s styling is that it can be attributed to its understated elegance. The front is simple but its elegance look is unmatched. It has the traditional Skoda grille and two rectangular multi reflector headlamps. On the L&K version we have an option of power headlamp washers. The Skoda Octavia’s alloys also are plain and simple, giving it a nice decent look. The Skoda Octavia is actually a hatchback, and so its boot appears small from the outside but is capacity is actually the biggest in its class and beyond in my opinion. The tail lamps are also very elegant. Even if the Skoda Octavia’s looks don’t excite you, the build quality will excite you for sure. The finish is also good, so on the whole everyone that it is a very elegant design scheme backed up by solid builds quality. The exterior features are good including Rear mudguards, 15 large wheel trims, Steel wheels 6.0J x 15, Chrome plated radiator grille frame, Bumpers in body colour with black protective strips, and External mirrors and door handles in body colour.

Skoda Octavia Interiors:  The Skoda Octavia’s interior is a nice place to be in. The neat simple layout of the dashboard is in my opinion better than many new garish ones. The speedometer and tacho dials look good enough. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather. Skoda Octavia has well enough front space. Some of the features on the Skoda Octavia include auto air con, headlamp washers, power side windows, auto transmission as an option and a CD changer. The quality inside is just too good, and the materials feel like they are built to last. One of the main weaknesses everyone can notice in the Skoda Octavia is the bad rear space. Though the seats are comfortable, the legroom is bad. This is one con, which might have changed many a mind about buying this car. Skoda Octavia Ride and handling:  The Skoda Octavia’s suspension is a little tightly sprung, and it gave a little harsh ride at low speeds. The ride quality at higher speeds is okay, swallowing such minor irregularities easily. Moving over to the handling, the alloys help in better cornering. But the Skoda Octavia is a front wheel drive sedan, so high-speed manoeuvres around corners will not be easy. Since the average driver won’t mind this, this doesn’t matter much in my opinion.
