Renault Modus India: Renault Modus India will complete a trio of sorts and will be the third car from the car maker that has already given the Fluence Sedan and Koleos. The company has gone on from strength to strength after dissolving its ties with Mahindra. In fact the company is slated to launch up to five cars by the end of 2012. Renault Modus is expected to break into the main stream market in India. Renault Modus besides being hatchback is also a MPV and can be expected to be priced around Rs 4.5-6 lakh. The car currently in the UK comes in models of Renault Modus and Renault Grand Modus which is a tourer edition. 

Renault Modus Engine: The Renault Modus India can be expected to come in 1.2L petrol engine and 1.5L diesel engine in three trim options and will be looking to target the B segment. The ground clearance of the Renault Modus is 120 mm.  The petrol powered engine will be offered with a 1.2 Litre, 1149 cc turbo motor and will peak at a maximum power of 100 bhp at 5500 rpm and a top torque of 152 Nm at 3500 rpm. The 1.2 Litre, 16 valve engine will power at a peak of 75 bhp with 5500 rpm and deliver a torque of 105 Nm at 4250 rpm. The gear transmission will be a 5 speed manual system and the 100 bhp power car clocks a top speed of 180 kmph. The Renault Modus has a thirst of 15.38 kmpl in the city and 18 kmpl on the highway. The diesel cousin will be a 1.5 Litre, 1461 cc engine with a peak power of 88 bhp and maximum torque of 200 Nm. The diesel motor too will have a 5 speed manual gearbox which is quiet nippy on the busy city streets with a top speed of 174 kmph. The diesel version gives a mileage of 17 kmpl in the city and 18 kmpl on highways.

Renault Modus Interiors: The Renault Modus is premium segment car with equally premium looks and makes the car stand out from the rest of the pack. The Renault Modus insides are expected to be spacey and full of style. The car will also be huge on the comfort factor with enough space for the head, leg and front drive visibility. The insides of the car will be made in such a way that the car is not only comfortable but also useful for the occupants with options for storage space. The twin storage pockets at the front and on the rear are huge enough to sustain your CD, DVD and other entertainment package. The Renault Modus will also be accompanied by a dashboard and overhead storage along with front seat drawers. The drive control is equipped with cruise and speed limiter options.  The Renault Modus is also expected to come with two screens and head phones to take care of your boredom needs. The Renault Modus will have ISOFIX duo plus seats for the kids for a secure and comfy journey for your entire family. The interiors will have a cockpit inspired style and will have all the controls ergonomically placed for the driver in order to give an enriching experience.

Renault Modus Exteriors: The Renault Modus for a hatchback car is quite lengthy and even matches close to an MPV. The car is still a hatchback at heart and is very easy to handle, easy to park and easy to ride even in the city streets. The front of Renault Modus has a large L shaped flood lamps and body color bumper. They are placed in such a way that the entire front of the car, the headlights all seems to give a standing ovation to the stunning Renault logo placed at the centre. Then there is the grille which is not the usual chrome for a change. The Renault Modus India door mirrors are body colored and are electrically adjustable and folded in the Expression variant and made of gunmetal finish for the Dynamique variant. The electric front and rear windows are also available in the Renault Modus. The entrance and the exit in the car can easily be done with the touch of a finger at the driver seat. There is also the option of remote fuel filler and the large shaded glasses that makes you travel with ease.

Renault Modus Ride and Handling: Renault Modus has a wheel base of 2482mm and this applies for both the petrol and diesel versions. The Renault Modus is front wheel drive type and will have a 5.5" J15" alloy wheels for the Renault Modus 1.2 litre 16Valve 75 bhp petrol variant. The Renault Modus specifications for the 1.2 Turbo 100 petrol version is expected to come with a 6" J16" alloy wheels, additionally 6" J15" alloy wheels option are also available. The diesel cousin dCi88 will have the 6" J15" and 6" J16"" alloy wheels option. In the Renault Modus 1.2 litre, 16 valve and 75 bhp petrol variant, the wheel size rounds up to 165 / 65 R15.  The 1.2 turbo, 100 bhp car has a wheel size of 185 / 60 R15 84H and 185 / 60 R16 84H. The diesel cousin of the Renault Modus measures up to 185 / 60 R 15 and 185 / 55 R 16 in the wheel size. The front and rear for the 165 wheel sized car measures 1471 mm and 1450 mm respectively. The 185 sized tyres measures 1456 mm and 1436 mm. The Renault Modus will have a decent 120 mm ground clearance in all the variants.

Renault Modus Specifications: The Renault Modus Specifications can be expected to come in 1.2L petrol engine and 1.5L diesel engine in three trim options and will be looking to target the B segment. The ground clearance of the car is 120 mm. Renault Modus is easily expected to take in up to five occupants. The car will be a premium hatchback segment car. The car is also expected to be huge on space and interior space with equally grandeur looks. The Renault Modus Specifications with regard to the size of the car are it has a head space of 1031 mm and a width of 1365 mm. The total length of Renault Modus cabin will be 1908 mm.

Renault Modus Ex-showroom Price: The Renault Modus price for the petrol variant can be expected to be priced around Rs. 5, 00,000. The Renault Modus price for the diesel model will be a little higher on the range of Rs. 6, 00,000. However the diesel is also going to be more powerful with its 1461cc and 4 cylinders compared to the 1198cc and 3 cylinders of the gasoline variant. Renault Modus On road Price will be inclusive of the Vehicle price, Road tax, Insurance and registration fees can further increase the cost up to 10% extra. If you want additional accessories you shall have to pay extra amount for the same.

Renault Modus Models: The Renault Modus Models are as follows:

• Renault Modus Expression Petrol: The gasoline variant of the will be powered by 1449cc, 75 bhp engine. It will also have a faster turbo engine option equipped with 1.2Litre Turbo 100 which is an 1149cc, 100 bhp at 5500 rpm, 152 Nm at 3500 rpm engine. It is also expected to come with ABS, EBD in the standard model.
• Renault Modus Expression Diesel: This Renault Modus comes with a 1461cc and powers up to 88 hp.
• Renault Modus Dynamique Petrol: The Renault Modus will be equipped with a 1449cc and 75 bhp engine. It also comes in an 1149cc, 100 bhp at 5500 rpm, 152 Nm at 3500 engine. It is also expected to come with ABS, EBD in the standard model.
• Renault Modus Dynamique Diesel: This is the most robust of the Modus cars and will come with a 1461cc and delivers a maximum power up to 88 bhp.

Renault Modus Colours: The Renault Modus will be available in seven shades of Brilliant White, Midnight Black, Striking Silver, Dark Grey, Light Blue, Bright Red and Leaf Green.

Renault Modus Awards: The Renault Modus has won the best small mpv award in the UK. The car in 2010 also won the Small MPV category in the Environmental Transport Association's Green Car Awards. It is expected to garner the same accolades in India as well.

Renault Modus Mileage: The Renault Modus diesel car is expected to be good on the mileage with figures of 17-20 kmpl. The 1149 cc petrol engine will deliver 15-16 kmpl mileage on city roads, while on highway it can extend up to 18 kmpl. However all these good qualities and eco friendly nature of makes Renault Modus Price a little higher and is more of premium segment car.

Renault Modus Safety features: The Renault Modus India will be secured with a remote central locking system to ensure security against un-warranted entries. The car will be equipped with air bags for both the driver and front passenger.
