21-Oct-2011:The Renault Clio buoyed by its success all over the world is now looking to set foot in India. Renault Executive VP Philippe Klein said “In January 2012 we will launch a hatchback in B to B+ segment and it is specifically designed for the Indian customers by our Mumbai centre”.

Renault Clio India: Renault Clio will be the new small car on the eve of the most awaited Indian Grand Prix. The company plans to put the car on the roads by the early stages of 2012. The car is expected to be a family hatchback and the first look can be expected ahead of the opening race on October 30th. Renault Clio, like the 4CV and the Renault 5 before it, has been a stand out car model since its inception from the 1990 world over. In line with its advertising slogan, ‘The Small Car with Big Car Attributes’, the car has been a success with each upcoming variant and has been setting new benchmarks in the B segment. In a span of two decades the Renault Clio has over 10 million car owners in more than 100 countries. This success and fame has been due to a combo of styling, comfort, versatility, safety and the over all package.

Renault Clio Engine: The Renault Clio engines and its gear transmission systems are optimized to deliver the best performance and are environment friendly as well.The car has 1.2 litre, 16 valve engine and is also capable of running on alternative fuels like the E85 bioethanol compatible version and liquefied petroleum gas. The dCi engines emit less than 120g of CO2/km (e.g. the dCi 85: 117g of CO2/km). The TCe 100 also has the distinction of the lowest CO2 emissions of any 100hp petrol engine. All the variants of the Renault Clio powered by the 1.2 16V 75, TCe and dCi 70/85/105 engines strictly comply with all the three conditions required to meet the Renault eco² signature.

Renault Clio Exterior: The Renault Clio is best in class in terms of the cabin space index. The rear shoulder room of the car measures up to 1,362mm in the case of three-door versions and 1,343mm for the five door variant and the estate versions. The spaciousness is further enhanced by the generous headroom which is 866mm at the rear. The rear occupants also benefit from knee room of 162mm. In fact the Renault Clio comfortably sits passengers who are more than 1.88m tall.

Renault Clio Interior: The Renault Clio, for a small car has a big design principle that is not only comfortable but also top notch in quality. The dashboard is finished with a soft-touch feel and the instruments are crystal clear with an in built screen of the Carminat TomTom® gps systems placed at the top of the centre console. The Renault Clio makes you feel at home right from the beginning. The interior trims have also not been spared and is completely renewed with an elegant ambience based on the equipment level.

Renault Clio Ride and Handling: The practical controls are as usual very easy to use inclusive of the short steering wheel mounted stalks. The drive control switch and the speed lock are now at the centre console partnering the parking brake. The driver can also check the on or off status of the drive control or the speed lock system.

Renault Clio Safety Features: The Renault Clio has also achieved a lot of firsts in the field of safety. It is the first car in its class to earn a four-star EuroNCAP crash-test rating, in 2000.
