12-Dec-2011: Nissan Sunny updates. Nissan Sunny Diesel is the bunny out of the hat with a surprise launch. Nissan Sunny diesel sedan has made its surprise entry and is now available in India with a starting price range of Rs 7.98 lakhs (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi).

Nissan has launched the Sunny diesel in two avatars namely the Sunny Diesel XL and Sunny Diesel XV. Sunny Diesel XL is now available for Rs 7.98 lacs whereas Sunny Diesel XV is available for a price of 8.78 lacs (all prices ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The new diesel version is run by a 1.5L, 4 cylinder diesel engine. Nissan Sunny diesel sedan offers best in class ARAI certified fuel economy of 21.64 kmpl. The car is the same born out of the same V platform. With a maximum power of 86 bhp and 3,750 rpm the car generates 200 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm.

The K9K diesel engine will make its first appearance in the Nissan Sunny with a 5 speed manual transmission option. The automatic gearbox is not available as of now. The car is already open to bookings at all the 47 Nissan dealerships in India.

The Nissan Sunny diesel comes in shades of Brick Red, Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue, Storm White, Blade Silver, and Bronze Grey. The car comes with features such as EBD – Electronic Break force Distribution, brake assist, ABS – Anti-Lock Braking System, airbags and engine immobilizer.

Nissan Sunny is an upcoming sedan from Nissan Motors India. It was first showcased its upcoming sedan at international Automobile Exhibition in Guangzhou (china) in 2010. It will be a global sedan which is going for sale first in China in the beginning of 2011 and across 170 countries globally. When it comes to India, The all-new global sedan will be the second brand built under Nissan’s ‘V’ podium. According to Nissan’s official statement, the new sedan will be launched in the mid-2011 in Indian market.  Nissan’s Oragadam plant which is near to Chennai will manufacture the engine of the new sedan. It will compete with the sedans like Volkswagen Vento, Mitsubshi Lance, Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic Maruti SX4 Diesel, Toyota Etios, Hyundai Verna and other similar sedans in India.

Nissan Sunny Exteriors- Nissan Sunny looks sporty and aggressive. Neatly scratched lines on the outer body will attract you. The halogen headlamps are large which can capture wide area. The logo of the company right at the centre with well designed grill gives ultimate beauty for the sedan. The front fascia is designed in such a way where air intake is easy. It has body colored bumpers and ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors) which is common in sedans. It comes with tubeless tyres and alloy wheels which makes the car even more stylish. It has got 160mm of ground clearance which will make you comfort in rough and tough roads. When it comes to rear view of the car it looks similar to other sedans. Overall you will feel value for your money.

Nissan Sunny Interiors - Nissan Sunny comes with outstanding interior features. It is a five seater sedan which is expected to come with dual tone dashboard with instrumental cluster. You will get a hell lot of room inside the car. It gives you enough head and leg room. It will not give you the option of audio control on steering wheel.  The seats are smooth, you will fell like home. All the occupants get seats belts; the company ensures the security for all the passengers. Nissan Sunny Safety Features - Nissan Sunny will be loaded with some advance safety features like , Anti-lock braking system with EBD and Brake assist, impact absorbing body, all seat belts, engine immobilizer, child safety locks, day and night inside rear view mirror, keyless entry, dual front airbags, halogen headlamps, front fog lamps, front disc brakes, front and side impact beams, central locking, etc.

Nissan Sunny Price - The Company has not revealed the price tag of the car, but the petrol version is expected to be priced at 7.5 and diesel version at 8.5 lakhs in Indian market.

Nissan Sunny Mileage - The expected mileage of this car is 12-16 Kmpl (city-highways).
