27-June-2012: Nissan Micra ranks no.1 in India. The just concluded study carried by the JD Power and McGraw-Hill companies, revealed that the Nissan Micra tops the list of Premium Compact Car segment scoring 857/1000 points in India. The car is the best performer in its class and is also the leader in terms of the outer looks, audio/entertainment/navigation, seats, HVAC heating, ventilation and air conditioning, visibility and driving safety and mileage.

Nissan Micra is a small car from the Japanese auto manufacturer Nissan. Company started production of Micra since 1982 and launched in Indian in July 2010. This is the first hatchback from Nissan stable in India. Company already setup a well-equipped production plant at Oragadam, a small place near Chennai with production capacity of 400,00 Micra units every year.

Nissan Micra Engine - Nissan Micra is comes with 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder HR12DE petrol engine that generates the power of 75 bhp (76 PS). New 3 cylinder engine is well refined and reduces the vibration (which is quite high in 3 cylinder engine). 1198 cc engine can touch the 0-100 kph in just 14.2 seconds.  

Nissan Micra Exteriors - Nissan Micra got an attractive muscular looks which is new to Indian market. The first thing you will notice from front is its two parts grille and stylish front lamps. From the rear it looks little small but got a huge mirror that eventually bring better visibility for both driver and passenger. Overall it’s a smaller car with length of just 3780 mm and height of 1530 mm which is quite good. The suspension of Nissan Micra is quite good and promises you a smooth ride in bumpy roads. A unique design feature of this car is the double-layer integrated grille, which provides a stylish and sophisticated look to the car, yet maintaining a classical shape. There is also a stylized version of the distinctive arched side window line, something that is central to the Micra’s heritage, identity and appeal.

Nissan Micra Interiors - Nissan Micra interiors are made up of good quality materials but not its best. Seats are quite comfortable but lacks in thigh support and base model comes with fixed headrests. Micra dashboard looks stylish and orange light make it more lively. Keyless/push button start and stop feature is unique and no other competitors are offering it. This car comes with round theme from exterior to interiors, inside a/c controls, audio controls button in round shape. Only the top end model of Nissan Micra comes with great features like climate control, audio systems, ABS, electric folding mirrors and power windows. For safety airbags are available in all models, base models got only driver air bag but top end comes with both driver and passenger air bags. Nissan Micra has awesome interior features with some drawbacks everything is good and high end have almost any feature people would expect, good Air condition, good music system but if people are really conscious about interior design. They will find the drawbacks of the interior design of Nissan Micra.  there is no seat height adjustment but have steering tilt, no 60:40 split of rear seat and no audio control mounted on steering. Too many of round theme in the dashboard makes you feel bit bored, but when it comes to seats, they are very soft and supportive (no idea about long journey). The top version is loaded with many delightful features but when it comes to base version which is nearly of 4 lakhs, the excitement lowers down.

Nissan Micra is a fuel efficient vehicle, it gives overall 15 kmpl. At highways this machine performs even better and gives around 18 kmpl but in city traffic you get mileage close to 13 kmpl. Ride and handling of Nissan Micra is very smooth and road grip is very impressive.
