29-June-2012: Mahindra Xylo has been in the market since 2009 and has hit 90,000 units till date. In fact the Xylo is now available in plenty of variants to choose from like D2, D4, E4, E8 and E9. You also get to pick from three engine options, which is a 2179cc mHawk engine, 2489cc 2.5 litre of mDI CRDE diesel and 2498cc 2.5 litre of mEagle motor. These robust engines smoke up to 120 BHP, 95 BHP and 112 BHP with a torque of 280 Nm, 220 Nm and 260 Nm. The new Xylo is a lot bolder and also goes hi fi with luxury features like as dual air conditioning system, ABS, audio controls mounted on steering wheel, twin airbags and cruise control. The new 2012 Mahindra Xylo Price ranges from Rs. 7.37 lakh to Rs. 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

05-Dec-2011: The Mahindra Xylo has made a lot of hue and cry since its inception from 2008 in the Indian market. At the pre launch it was with the code name Ingenio. Then the Rs.550 crore spent for developing the Xylo. All these efforts have surely made the Xylo a car of good overall build quality, fit and finish. The car has also got its pricing right which is certainly better over its rivals like the Chevrolet Tavera and the Toyota Innova. The car does fall short in terms of the quality compared to the Innova. The Xylo however scores in terms of the looks which is vastly better to its own Scorpio and the Bolero. The car is a complete value for money for the price you are getting it. Yet again the car is in the news with the speculations of launching a Mahindra Xylo Mini.

Mahindra Xylo is one of best product of Mahindra. It offers a great interior air some good security features. Xylo boasts of added legroom in second and thrid rows as well. More comfort and surround cooling is offered by the twin AC with multiple vents and individual controls for each passenger. Mahindra has not compromised with the safety features either, in this latest model. You can easily fly in peak traffic with this fuel-efficient locomotive as it can be turned from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.8 seconds. Thanks to the 2.49-litre mEagle CRDe engine delivering 112 bhp that powers this giant.

Interior quality is good, but Mahindra can use better plastic quality (don’t think it’s bad, it’s considerable).   Music system is very decent looking; good sound quality and they gave USB port as well. The main purpose of this vehicle is to carry people not luggage. It has less luggage carrying capacity. If you want to carry more luggages like more than 2, 3 medium bags then you might need to use third row seats or better install a luggage carrier at roof.

Mahindra Xylo Exteriors – Mahindra Xylo looks dull compare to its competitors. It looks just OK kind of thing. For any SUV or MUV exterior design is very much important. It looks dumb from the rear side. The aerodynamic design of this SUV is not up to the mark of Mahindra. People who buy this SUV will sure regret about the money and exterior features. In this SUV interior dominates exterior features. 

 
Mahindra Xylo Engine - Mahindra Xylo is available in two types of engine they are mDI CRDe and mEagle CRDe diesel engines. The mDI CRDe diesel engine has capacity of 2489cc which can generate maximum power of 112 bhp at 3800rpm with 260Nm of peak torque at 1800 - 2200 rpm.  along with the good fuel efficiency. The mEagle CRDe diesel engine has capacity of 2489cc with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission gearbox. In-line type engine with 4 cylinders is packed with Common Rail Direct Injection fuel supply system provides good driving experience with decent power.

Mahindra Xylo Ride and Handling – Mahindra Xylo can accommodate 7-8 peoples comfortably. You can drive it at 150 kph in few seconds and it will be very steady and smooth but you can also feel little engine sound from it. Mahindra Xylo’s 2.5 litres, 4 cylinder mEagle diesel engine delivers the maximum output 112bhp at 3800 rpm which is very good and promises a decent performance.  It also comes with digital drive assist system which gives you the information about the mileage, current speed, indoor and outdoor temperature.
