02-July-2012: Hyundai i10 also takes the plunge into the next generation with Next Gen i10 variant. The new car will reveal itself in an ad featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The sneak shots of the new ad reveals the wealth of good things that happen to Khan as soon as he gets into an i10. The Hyundai i10 has been in the market since October 2007 while the Next Gen i10 was launched in September 2010.

05-Dec-2011: The Hyundai i10 is now available as the Next Gen i10. The new car features an all new front grille, new headlamps, tail lamps, new front and rear bumper but at the heart of the matter is the new engine with VTVT technology in the engine. The insides of the car will however remain the same with the exception of new shades and upholstery. Hyundai has also launched an i10 Blue Drive which is powered by the 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine. The car shifts easily from petrol to LPG which is superior in terms of the reliable performance and unmatched fuel economy. The car has a separate Petrol (35 litre) and LPG (34 litre) tanks. The LPG tank in the i10 blue drive has a special Toroidal LPG tank that allows for intelligent use of space and makes for larger boot space than the conventional LPG-fitted models. The New Hyundai i10 also has an Alternator Management System while the battery life is increased and so is the mileage. It also features Manual Shift indicator (MSI), which tells you when to change gears helping you achieve better fuel efficiency. The LPG-kit is ARAI certified and is impact resistant as well. It is also certified by DOE (Department of Explosives). The LPG-kit is also backed by a two year warrant.

Hyundai i10 is the flagship model of Hyundai in India. It is a well known Hatchback manufactured in India (Chennai) and it is marketed globally. It was launched in 2007 which is a replacement for long lasting Hyundai Santro. It is the milestone vehicle in the history of Hyundai.

 
Hyundai i10 Engine – Hyundai i10 the new 1.2L 16V DOHC engine delivers 79 bhp at 5200 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The all aluminum Kappa engine, the first in its class, delivers an all time low NVH levels (noise vibration and harshness) with low emission output. Hyundai's intelligent responsive technology strengthens and powers the engine to improve performance and mileage. The 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive that comes standard across all variants is quick and responsive.

Hyundai i10 Exteriors: Hyundai i10 looks aggressive. There is absolutely no change in the way the i10 looks. The large Audish air dam which seems to be the norm these days takes center stage upfront. Then you have the stylish angular headlights with a thin smiley chrome grille which along with the high bonnet line looks funky cute. The side profile is pretty conventional with only the upswept kink on the rear window line adding some spice. When viewed from the rear three quarters, the headlights bulge out of the body like a pimple which looks a little odd. The tail section looks smart as well with the tail lights blending in perfectly with the overall design. The subtle spoiler with the thick black strip running across the bumper adds a sporty touch to the otherwise funky design.

Hyundai i10 Interiors – Hyundai i10 interiors display luxurious fine fittings to provide unsurpassed comfort and the interior looks quite modern with dashboard integrated center console instead of conventional floor shift pattern. Elegantly designed interiors are not only plush but also provide a luxurious feel. Dual Tone Beige Interior features 3-spoke steering wheel that makes handling easier and nimble. The new i10 Sportz variants comes with a new interior- the red fabric appointments on dash, doors and seats on beige interiors giving it a brighter look. The design of the dash is impressive and appealing. All equipments including the instrument cluster, the AC, and the audio system have been fitted and placed properly on the console. The new Kappa i10 features a fully integrated 2-Din audio system with CD player/ MP3 compatibility that delivers clear and distinct sound.

Five persons can comfortably fit in its spacious interior. The seats are supportive and offer good comfort like legroom, knee support and not convincing headrests on all seats. The occupants may find the lack of whole back support slightly uncomfortable on long journeys. Standard interior features include a motor driven power steering coupled with i-shift gear shift on Hyundai i10, electronic trip-meter, an electronic odometer, a low fuel warning lamp, an air conditioner with heater, and an internally adjustable ORVM. The car is also equipped with a sun-roof which again is a rare option in this segment.

Hyundai i10 Ride and Handling – Hyundai i10 Ride quality is fantastic with no noise from the 1.2 liter engine. The pickup is excellent and the car is well powered. Hyundai i10 is lively and handles well with its short wheelbase and turning radius that makes it ideal for swift maneuvers. The car shows minor body lean while cornering, so that is something to watch out for. The new i10 sports top class McPherson Strut suspension in the front and CTBA with coil springs in the rear that best suit Indian road conditions. It rolls on steel wheels with tubeless tyres to increase the level grip and comfort while negotiating slippery surfaces.
