02-July-2012: Chevrolet Sail hatchback has revealed itself at the 11th Auto Expo confirming its launch in India. The Sail hatchback will replace the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA. Chevrolet Sail hatch back will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The Sail hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 80.5 PS and 108 NM of torque. The diesel variant will be powered by a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. Sail hatchback will be launched out by June-July this 2012.

6-January-2012 updates: Chevrolet Sail has been unveiled at the Auto Expo and will replace the Aveo UV-A. Chevrolet Sail will be available in both hatchback as well as sedan segment. The Chevrolet Sail will come in two engine options of 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel. The Chevrolet Sail specifications deliver a power of 82bhp and is mated to a five speed manual transmission. The Chevrolet Sail price is expected to be in the range of Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.

Chevrolet Sail is a forthcoming car from the Company is planning to launch it by the end of 2011.It went bankrupt in the last year; it a good time to overcome out of it. It has recently launched the new sedan in China correlating with Shanghai GM and the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), both being GM-SAIC joint ventures. Chevrolet Sail was first unveiled in 2005 at Shanghai Auto Show.

 
 
Chevrolet India has reported that the new sedan will be exported to other promising markets around the world. So, Indian market will also be best choice for GM as per as new sedan is concern. Recently the company has unveiled the hatchback model of Chevrolet Sail at Beijing Motor Show 2010. Indian customers are expecting both sedan and hatchback versions but sedan version may enter Indian market bit late where as we can expect hatchback model in the upcoming year (2011) on Indian roads.

Chevrolet Sail will be a strong competitor against Maruti Swift Dzire, Hyundai Accent, Tata Indigo and other similar cars in home market. The newly launched sedan version of Chevrolet Sail in Chinese market is believed to be the finest car of Mileage. If it comes to Indian market, the middle class customers who are having thirst upon fuel efficiency will sure buy it. In this way the new vehicle is expected to be a great hit in Domestic market.

Chevrolet Sail Engine - the Chevrolet Sail comes up with two engine options, 1.2 litre S-TEC II and 1.4 litre S-TEC III.
