The German Luxuries car maker BMW has recently launched model BMW X1 in Indian market, it is the cheapest and smallest SUV from BMW wing in domestic market and globally as well. The car is based on the on the 3-series platform, it is a SUV which is priced at 22 lakh to 30 lakh in home market. BMW’s Chennai plant has taken the responsibility to manufacture BMW X1’s engine. The company has invested more than 180 crores for this plan. It is the most awaited SUV in India; it will be available in three variants i.e. Corporate Edition, Highline and Cool Elegance in both diesel and petrol engines. The car is available in various shades like Black Sapphire, Cashmere Silver, Deep Sea Blue, Graphite Blue, Marrakesh Brown, Space Grey, Sparkling Bronze, Tasman Titanium Silver and Vermilion Red and many other shades in Indian market.

BMW X1 Exterior- BMW X1 is the most awaited tiny SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) in domestic market; it looks so small yet dynamic which has ability to attract customers with its advanced and new generation features. The car is new to Indian but not for world, BMW is selling this model to more than 22 countries across the world.  The car has got enough popularity because of its exterior design, excellent performance and especially for its price tag.The features like heated and automatic adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) chrome finished exhaust pipe, halogen headlights and round shape front fog lamps, body coloured door handles, Panorama Glass and 17 inch light alloy wheels has enough capacity to rob customer hearts. At the tip of the rear windscreen, the rear spoiler is added with high level LED third brake light.

BMW X1 has got lofty ground clearance of 2760mm which provides bigger shape for the car. It looks like sedan from backside but has big slop, the back light is separated in two part; it sits on side and at hatch. The low-end X1 model comes with wide rear skirt in black and bumper.

BMW X1 Interior- The outer part and inner part of this car will be the best example for beauty, the moment you see the car you will say ‘Wow’. Compare to its earlier products in domestic BMW X1 has some big differences; the company has missed out bells and whistles which include sunroof and CD-changer.  The Metro version of the BMW X1 comes with different upholstery- The high-end diesel variant will get brown and black leather upholstery while the petrol and the other diesel variant will come in beige or black upholstery. The steering wheel is tied with good leather which gives you a better grip. The face cubicle is roomy which gives enough head, leg, shoulder and hip space. The back seats will not fit for fatty people; it’s too small to adjust 3 passengers. The car comes with front and back electric windows with open and close options, the windows are loaded with heat and shaded all round. It has sufficient storage place to carry your treasures with excelling lighting options like ambient lighting, illuminated glove compartment, Illumination for vanity mirrors, illuminated luggage front foot well lights, courtesy lights front and rear  compartment, , front and rear reading lights with velour floor mats. Compare to its earlier version of BMW X1 will not meet its standards, customers feel like it’s an ordinary car.

BMW X1 Engine- The BMW X1 comes in both petrol and diesel versions in Desi market. It is loaded with turbocharger, variable intake geometry and common-rail fuel injection in 1955cc four-cylinder. The petrol version X1 sDrive 18i priced at INR 2.2 million whereas the diesel version of X1 comes in two models X1 sDrive20d and X1 sDrive 20d exclusive is priced at INR 2.39- 2.99 in Indian market.  The diesel version of X1 has a capacity to generate the utmost power of 177 BHP and torque of 350 Nm from 1750 to 3000 rpm whereas the petrol version is capable of producing the maximum power of 150 BHP with a torque of 200 Nm at 3600 rpm, it is mated with six speed automatic transmission gearbox which gives enough power to ride smoother in home market.

BMW X1 Safety- the BMW X1 promises the security for customers with its safety features like Rain sensor, ABS (Antilock Braking System), dual front airbags and side ITS head airbags for front and rear both, central locking, crash sensor, front and rear fog lamps, halogen headlamps, front and rear seat belts with pretensioner and belt force limiter, side impact protection and Xenon lights etc.

Overall the car is expected to be a grand hit in home market; it will give a tough competition for the SUVs like Ford endeavour, Hyundai Santa Fe, Skoda Yeti and other similar SUVs. Being a luxury car manufacturer BMW has launched low-priced SUV to grab Indian market whereas the Audi, Benz has to take similar steps to maintain grip on Indian customers. The car will give overall mileage of 15kmpl in Domestic market.
