Maruti Suzuki Swift
Maruti Swift India
The Maruti Swift is the best selling premium hatchback in the country and that too without any arguments. The BMW mini inspired styling spread like forest fire and it seems there is no drowsing to it. The fire has only raged further with Swift undergoing its first major makeover in 2011 and also comes with both the petrol and diesel engines.
The new Maruti Swift looks very modern and fresh despite the familiarity of its shape. The new Swift looks even better with subtle tweaking of the design. The Maruti Suzuki Swift promises to be a fuel efficient hot hatch that takes its styling to a new level. The 2011 model of the popular hatchback Swift has not only taken off from where the old Maruti Swift but has even surpassed its own popularity.
Maruti Swift Engine
The new Maruti Swift comes with the K12 Suzuki K series engine which is a 1200cc K series engine which is same as in the existing generation of Maruti Swift. The petrol mill comes with same 1.2 liter KB series with a Variable Valve Timing (VVT) engine churning out 87 PS of power at 6000 rpm and an impressive 114 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
The Diesel has DDIS engine as in its predecessor, but, with a variable geometry turbo currently running the SX4 diesel. The 1.3 liter powerplant will churn out 75 PS of power at 4000 rpm and a huge 190 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. The present version Swift is improved and good in performance.
Maruti Swift Exteriors
The new Maruti Swift 2011 is surely more attractive compared to the older version. The back part of the car is completely new and gets more impressive exterior than the older one. The rear portion gets a new tail light pattern which is stretching towards the sides, making the car more attractive. The Swift 2011 is also fascinating with the clear crystal lamps at the front and rear end adding to the overall beauty of the car. Overall the 2011 Maruti Swift has a slightly longer frame being the only noticeable difference with no major changes in the exterior as the current one is working fine.
Maruti Swift Interiors
The interior plastic quality is much better than the old one, love the black interior. Maruti’s Interior decorators did something remarkable this time also (like always) and updated the interiors by adding tilt steering and retractable cup holders. Maruti Swift has comfortable seats with good legroom and headroom on both front and rear and it’s designed very widely that 3 people can easily seat at rear. The new-fangled seat fabric and entry trims will offer New Swift an innovative and classier look compared to the accessible Maruti swift. The orange back-lit central console looks very cool and gives a feel of a premium hatchback. The Maruti Swift 2011 looks like a nice car, but looking at the far too many similarities it sounds like a wise move to wait for the 2012 Sports model.
Maruti Swift Safety Features
The high-end Maruti Swift comes fully loaded with added safety features and accessories including automatic climate control, driver seat height adjuster, 12V accessory socket in the luggage area, electromagnetic type tailgate opener, rear window wiper and de-mister, dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), keyless entry and seatbelt pre-tensioners (In the event of a crash, a pre-tensioner will tighten the belt at once, thereby preventing the occupant from a sudden jerk). Adjustments in the rear seat inclination have been made to improve the rear seat comfort and legroom.
