Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
Maruti Ertiga India
29-June-2012: Maruti Ertiga ZDi diesel trim has just gotten out of reach for the time being with a waiting period of over 9 months till March next year. The delay is attributed to the shortage of alloy wheel supplies for the ZDi trim. The alloy wheels are supplied from Thailand and the dealer has been unable to keep up with steep rise in the bookings of the diesel Ertiga in India. However the good news is that you get the LDi in just one month while the VDi version is available in just 4 months. The only reason ZDi version has been raking in the bookings, is because of the huge price gap between the VDi and ZDi of around Rs 80,000 and the list of additional features that more than justifies the price.
03-May-2012: Maruti Ertiga has once again proved why Maruti Suzuki remains the top auto company in India to date. In spite of being a first timer in the SUV segment the company seems to have hit all the right notes with its multi-purpose vehicle Ertiga it launched earlier this month. In fact the figures say that just five days from the launch, the Ertiga has already breached the 11,000 unit mark. Apart from the right features, price and the looks the company has also left no stone unturned to promote the vehicle.
The company calls the Ertiga as life utility vehicle (LUV) which has gone onto strike a huge connection with the audience. The biggest trump card is off course, the pricing of the vehicle and the company has hit the bulls eye. Competitors like the Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova start upwards of Rs 8-9 lakh up to Rs 13-14 lakh while the Ertiga's base price of Rs 5.89 lakh ex-showroom Delhi has made it a rage in the country.
Maruti Ertiga is a MUV. Maruti Suzuki India is all set to shake the 7-seater MUV market with the launch of Maruti Ertiga at the 2012 auto expo in New Delhi. Maruti Ertiga was first unveiled at the Auto Expo held in New Delhi in 2010. There it was introduced as Maruti’s upcoming MPV-Maruti R3 concept. This MPV, codenamed RIII is said to be based on the Ritz platform, will be a sever seater MPV and will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Designed to appeal to big Indian families looking for an ideal blend of everyday usability and space, the Maruti Ertiga, however isn’t just a practical mono-volume with three rows of seats like the much more utilitarian Eeco.
The 11th edition of Auto Expo, starting from January 7, will be the platform for the launch of the first of its kind vehicle from the Maruti Suzuki India. And keeping in mind the Indian consumers' penchant for buying "value-for-money" goods, Maruti sure seems to have the right offering.
Maruti Ertiga Engine
The Maruti Ertiga is launching during the Auto Expo next month, the 1.3-liter Multi-jet diesel with higher outputs compared to the Swift will drive this car. Maruti Ertiga car is an excellent high performance engine car model from Maruti Suzuki Company. For the Ertiga Petrol variant, Maruti will bring their 1.4 liter K14 petrol engine which has 95PS of peak power and about 130Nm of torque. The 1.3 liter DDiS diesel with a variable geometry turbo will be rated at 90PS with peak torque rating of 200Nm. The Auto Expo 2012 will also be used as the global launch platform for the all-new k14 engine.
This car is expected to be assimilated with five speed manual transmission system.
Maruti Ertiga Exteriors
The multi-purpose vehicle, Maruti Ertiga feature several arrangements and components for comfort and convenience of the occupants. The front looks are like the Maruti Ritz. It is much wider and bulkier than the hatchback. Its wheelbase is equal to that of Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. The chin of the Ertiga is quite different. New Maruti Ertiga exteriors are heavily influenced from Maruti Suzuki SX4 and the car appears to be the extended version of the same.
This multi-purpose vehicle is designed and engineered keeping in mind the behaviour of Indian buyers. The size is quite car like and if one really does not want the Innova bulk and ground clearance this should be the way to go about it.
Maruti Ertiga Interiors
Maruti Ertiga will have lighter yet durable interior components used to ensure that the quality of its exteriors is maintained in the inside too. The MPV is expected to offer a comfortable seating for 7 passengers, with reasonable interior space. The beige interior is quite identical to the new Swift, but has three rows of seats with foldable rear seats to improve the boot space. The roof mounted AC vents in the second and the last row passenger seats are provided for enhanced cooling for the passenger comfort.
The occupants feel comfortable in the LXI variant due to availability of power windows, body color bumpers, power steering, multi trip meters, internally folding OVRMs (outside rearview mirrors), AC etc.
Maruti Ertiga Ride and Handling
The front will have disc brakes while the rear will have drum brakes for superb braking system. The company is known for making vehicles perfectly suited to the Indian audiences. Similarly the Maruti Ertiga will be designed aerodynamically to keep the car under complete control even during high speeds. It is also expected to be equally swift in heavy traffic conditions. Moreover the use of advanced braking system makes the driving safer for passengers as well as pedestrians moving outside on road.
Maruti Ertiga Specifications
The petrol variant is expected to be powered by a 1372cc K – Series engine. It will deliver a peak power of 95 bhp along with a peak torque of 130 Nm.
