Maruti Alto k10 India

Maruti Alto k10 is the new upgraded version of the Maruti Alto car but with new improved features and at very affordable prices. Maruti Suzuki India has also launched special festive editions of Alto and Alto K10. They have been released as the Alto Xplore and Alto K10 Xplore. Maruti Alto k10 features a 998cc K10 engine, with 20.2 km per litre mileage; 35 liters petrol tank capacity hits the 100 kmph in just 13.3 seconds. The Maruti Alto k10 has been launched in India priced in the range of 3.03 - 3.16 lakhs. Being the largest selling car in India, the Alto is Maruti’s most important offering in the market. In fact the Alto has taken over the successor tag after the iconic Maruti 800.

Maruti Alto k10 Engine

The engine of Maruti Alto k10 is the same as found under the hood of A-Star, Estilo and the new Wagon R. It has a significantly more powerful engine than the existing 800cc Alto yet provides increased fuel efficiency. With 68 PS from the new 998 cc engine and just an increase of 50 kg the performance of the car is one of the best in its class. The clock hits the 0-100 in 13.3 seconds, which is better than the 17.3 of the existing Alto. It has a high torque of 90Nm@3500 rpm with low emissions and low NVH as well.

The Maruti Alto k10 has changed visually, but most of it is cosmetic. The Alto-K10 is longer by 125mm to accommodate the bigger K-series engine. It has a new aggressive front, with a differently styled combination of dynamic hood, bold eagle-eye headlamps with crystal-clear lens. The Alto-K10 comes with Tinted glasses, Large13-inch tubeless tyres, Body coloured bumpers, Trendy wheel-covers, Precise and smart front grill, Interesting body side, mouldings and Stylish tail gate. Maruti Alto k10 Interiors

Suzuki has redesigned the interior of the new Alto, everything including power steering to its instrumental panel. The top end model of the new Maruti Alto has a touch of dual tone. The lengthening of the Maruti Alto K10 unfortunately doesn’t translate to more space in the interiors. The dual tone interiors look very good and give the Maruti Alto k10 an up market look and feel. The instrument comprises of tachometer, speedometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, digital trip-meter and odometer as well. The K10 comes with a stylish 3-spoke collapsible steering column further making the driver's life easy.

Maruti Alto k10 Ride and Handling

The Maruti Alto k10 rides very assuredly on all surfaces and the Alto soaks up most undulations on the road. The steering is not heavier. It is light as a feather. It feels a bit uncomfortable on the highway due to its lightness. For city driving, the engine and power steering are perfect. The Alto could have handled way better if Maruti had decided to give it bigger tyres. However, that would have compromised the mileage which happens to be close to 20 kmpl. It’s good to drive the Maruti Alto k10, due to its smooth ride and cool look.

Maruti Alto K10 LXI: This is the base variant of the new Maruti Alto k10 that is equipped with 998cc, K10 engine and with a few advanced features. It comes with improved suspension, new cable-type transmission, superior brake system and more knee-room for rear seat passengers, etc.

Maruti Alto K10 VXI: This top end variant of the new entrant comes with most of the features of the base variant and some added features like front power windows, three spoke power steering wheel, key off reminder, 13 inch tubeless tyres, front fog lamps, etc. The variant weighs 765 kg.
