The original tallboy has received minor makeovers in the years to make it more appealing. The tall boy design plays truant with the handling of the car but it also adds to the beauty of the car. The Hyundai Santro Xing Engine comes equipped with a 1.1 litre, 1086cc, SOHC, 4 cylinder petrol engine that delivers a power of 63 Ps at 5500 rpm and 96 Nm at 3000 rpm. It hits the 0-100 kmph in just 16.5 seconds with a top speed of 141 kmph. It comes with options of 5-speed Manual Transmission (MT) and 4-speed Automatic Transmission (AT) as well.

The Hyundai Santro Xing Interiors are completely revamped and looks a lot plush with its brown beige interior similar to the i20. The new center console features a new silver finish, with new controls for the AC and luggage area as well. The dash, instrument cluster and the central console have a smart new look with sporty dials and better-designed vents. A newly designed rear parcel tray is also among the add-on features. The new variant is also spacious with ample leg room, head room and elbow room. The occupants are at comfort with supportive seats which offer firm thigh and back support. Hyundai Santro Xing Ride and Handling

 

Overall it is a good choice for the metro city drive but suffers a bit on the dusty roads. The new engine is quick in response and has excellent suspension system which ensures smooth rides and handling at high speeds. On the flipside the tyres are not the best in absorbing bumps and on broken patches which makes the ride a bit uncomfortable. The accelerator pedal is oddly placed which places stress on your ankle and can be painful over longer drives. The McPherson strut suspension in front and 3-link offset coil spring handles very well all the bumps on the road.
