Hyundai Eon carries forward the latest fluidic design theme on inside as well and the interiors are feature rich and spacious. In spite of these premium styling and features the Hyundai Eon is the cheapest car till date from the house of Hyundai in India. Eon has been developed specifically for the Indian market, at an introductory price of between Rs 2.69 lakh and Rs 3.71 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Then there is also the LPG kit fitted EON version which will cost you exactly Rs 27000 more on the ex-showroom price. The LPG variants include D-Lite Plus, Era Plus and Magna Plus; all the variants can be fitted with LPG fuel kit options. The Hyundai Eon D-Lite Plus is priced at Rs 2.98 lakh, Era Plus comes at Rs 3.12 lakh and Magna Plus is tagged at Rs 3.42 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
Hyundai Eon Engine
The Hyundai Eon, which will compete with Maruti Suzuki India's best selling model Alto, is powered by an 814 Cc petrol engine. Generating a peak power of 56PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 7.65 KgM at 4,000 rpm, the Eon's engine manages to beats the arch rival Alto convincingly. The Alto's 800cc engine manages 47 PS of peak power at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 6.3 KgM at 3,000 rpm.
Hyundai Eon Safety Features
The Instrument cluster comprises of many warning lamps for instance, the airbag warning lamp. The car comes with driver airbag in top variant. The advance engine immobilizer works efficiently in case of mishaps, furthermore with front fog lamps and inside rear view mirror to view the occupants or children without actually turning back while driving. There are child safety rear door locks and central locking to ensure child security along with seat belts for front and rear passengers. The safety features are majorly found in the top-end variant of Hyundai Eon. All these features provide optimum safety and precaution for the well-being of the driver as well as the passengers.
Hyundai Eon Exteriors
The Hyundai Eon has a very intricate design accentuated with the fluidic lines seen on the 2011 Verna. The new stylish car comes with exquisite curvatures, interiors and exteriors at a cost competitive range. The huge bumper has been shaped rather sportily at the bottom, and has place for two triangular fog lamps. This modern beauty also has a nice combo of sporty and decent looks. The slick and stylish wheel cover completes the overall side profile and looks cool while cruising on the road.

Hyundai Eon, unlike any other in the segment, gets a neatly finished and spacious interior. The front doors sport aesthetically designed map pockets with built-in bottle holder and paper storage. The Eon has surprisingly adequate occupant space, unparalleled style and high-end interiors, which is an unusual aspect in the small car category. As with most Hyundai cars, the interior are very good for its price. Overall, Hyundai is having a sure-shot winner in its hands. The Hyundai Eon is offered in six shades including Coral White, Maharajah Red, Pristine Blue, Dark Grey metallic, Mushroom and Sleek Silver.
Hyundai Eon Specifications
The compact hatch door conceals a 215-litre boot, with a low loading height. The Eon's wheelbase at 2,380mm is identical to the Santro Xing's and the former's overall length is only about 70mm lesser at 3,495mm. The Hyundai Eon is about 25mm wider than the Santro Xing at 1,550mm, but is shorter at 1,500mm. The Eon is taller and wider than the Maruti Alto.
The Hyundai Eon leverages the most space in the car within the limitations of the dimensions. Wheels pushed to the extremes, the Eon delivers about 1,010mm of leg space at the front and about 835mm of legroom at the rear.
Hyundai Eon Mileage
Compared to the Alto's claimed 19.73 kmpl, Hyundai engineers claim that the Eon's engine will be capable of delivering a fuel efficiency of 21.1 kmpl.
Hyundai Eon Ride and Handling
The ride is not bad for an entry level car. It is surprisingly good for our conditions and the Eon's gas charged dampers work better than the hydraulic system, which is a first in this segment. In terms of the handling is concerned the Hyundai Eon is competent in the city but there is a fair amount of body roll and understeer once you begin to hit the peddle. On the flip side the Eon has electrically assisted power steering only on the top four variants. For the lower variants it has only the standard manual steering without any assist.

Hyundai Eon D- Lite: The car features Immobilizer and driver side ORVM besides integrated HMSL and quality exterior chrome finish and both-side sun visors. Interiors comes with dual tone speaker grille- front doors with clear all round glasses together with elements like power outlet, cup holder, gear shift indicator on the dash, cluster assembly signals etc.
Hyundai Eon D-Lite Plus: This variant comes equipped with power steering and optional air conditioning system combined with body colored bumpers besides all the favorite features of Eon’s standard variant.
Hyundai Eon D- Lite (O): This version has the addition of manual air conditioner in the interiors and the entire features that are a part of Hyundai Eon D- Lite variant is seen serving this variant.
Hyundai Eon D-Lite Plus LPG: The unique version is a dual-fuel car that gets the power from its ‘Toroidal’ shaped LPG kit and alternatively petrol and that too packed with two years of warranty. Besides all the aspects of usual Hyundai Eon D-Lite Plus remains unchanged.
Hyundai Eon Era: Era variant is seen with body colored exterior accessories with metallic finish accompanied by tinted glasses and motor driven power steering including EPS indicator rest all features can be added of Eon D- Lite (O) variant.
Hyundai Eon Era Plus: The awaited feature of central locking that went missing is now offered in upgraded Era Plus variant teamed up with front power windows as extra element over the classic features of normal Hyundai Eon Era variant.
Hyundai Eon Era Plus LPG: Again the distinctive feature of LPG kit appears in ‘Toroidal’ form to occupy less space and ensure class leading mileage and convenience of dual-fuel. The LPG kit comes with two year’s warranty. The other elements continue to be the same of Era Plus variant.
Hyundai Eon Magna: This variant is introduced with central locking, passenger side ORVM and tilt-able steering for safety along with front door map pockets and rear speaker grille. Furthermore, foldable rear seat and front power windows along with the essential aspects of the Eon Era variant.
Hyundai Eon Magna Plus: This is actually entertainment + variant, it comes packed with high end 2-Din audio system attached with AUX & USB ports to keep the leisure continued in car. Alongside, all the amazing features of Hyundai Magna.
