Honda CR-V
Honda CRV India
Honda CRV may not have set the roads on fire but it has still managed to grab the eyeballs with its controversial styling. The Honda CRV is not your typical run of the mill off-roader, but a soft roader with lots of strings attached to it in the form of high class comforts. The Honda CRV comes with a robust engine which is easy to drive with a light steering. This means the Honda CRV is a delight to drive around the town in the busy traffic and fun on the long escapades as well. The Honda CRV has managed to crossover from the usual SUV image and it has succeeded to quite an extent with its car-like looks. The new Honda CRV is sportier than ever before. The changes have also been made to the entire unit making the car radical and yet functional enhancing the customer experience.
Honda CRV Exteriors
The new Honda CRV exteriors come with a bold and expressive forward cabin which gives it a unique identity. A new two-step front grille and a side profile with an arched window shape further add to the exclusivity of the CRV. The new Honda CRV also comes with a re-done hood and a new front bumper and rear bumper design as well as oval shape fog lamps. The new CRV is further enhanced by the painted bumpers. The other exterior features included in the CRV are body-colored units, a large chrome grille, and head lamps with dual circular. In terms of the length the new CRV is 45 mm longer than the existing 4575 mm length while the same width, height, ground clearance and head clearance has been maintained. The new Honda CRV is carried by a 10-spoke alloy wheel design which adds to the overall daring nature of the SUV.
Honda CRV Engine
Honda CR-V engine comes with a i-VTEC 2.0 litre and 2.4 litre Real time 4WD petrol engine. The engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission. The 4 WD engine comes with the option of 5 speed automatic transmission as well. The 2 litre engine delivers a maximum power of 143 PS, and 161 PS of power for 4WD engine.
Honda CRV Interiors
In terms of the interiors the Honda CRV comes with a one of a kind dashboard adorned with plush leather upholstery. The colors give a bright effect to the interior scheme and adding a premium look with chrome finish in audio controls and gear knob and coordinated color changes in the dashboard and centre console. The LCD meter display is now located at the centre in a cool blue color with design changes in the indicators for improved decipherability. There is a vanity mirror to assist visibility during darkness. The entertainment is taken car by the USB system just above the glove compartment. Other comfort features include Dual Climate Control, adjustable tilt-telescopic steering, multi-info display and an ultra-silent cabin to make sure you are spoilt for choice. The driving pleasure is further increased by the excellent visibility The CRV also comes with sunroof as a standard feature and the 4WD models come with a steering-mounted Cruise Control system with illuminated controls to ensure comfort and convenience for the customer with one-touch operation.
Honda CRV Safety Features
The Honda CRV safety features include six airbags, Dual SRS Airbags, Side-Curtain airbags and Side Airbags with Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) and strong vehicle bodies that very effectively master over crash during a collision. Honda addresses this as G-Force Control Technology or G-CON (the strategy is to control the G-forces that passengers can experience during a collision). G-FORCE Control Technology verifies the body framework and allows the collision energy to manage efficiently. The CR-V is 'Crash Compatible' when it stands with other vehicles.
Honda CRV Colors
The Honda CRV colors include new premium mystic night pearl, new opal sage metallic, crystal black pearl, alabaster silver, polished metal and premium white pearl.
Honda CRV Ride and Handling
The Honda CRV has a comfortable ride and comes with refined powertrains, though the significant road noise comes as a spoilt sport. The engine coupled to a 5-speed automatic gearbox was smooth, powerful and offers a good drive. The Honda CRV would surely have been a better performer with a V6 or turbocharged engine option and an automatic transmission with more gears. The car certainly doesn't fit the stereotypical image of a big fat 4*4 SUV and negotiates corners and curves with minimal wallow. Excellent outward visibility is a hallmark of Honda design and a key feature for the Honda CRV.

Compare Honda CRV with other Models
Honda CRV vs Hyundai Santa Fe: The diesel variants of the Hyundai Santa Fe are a great choice. The petrol variants do not give you value for the money and efficiency compared to the diesels. In terms of the ride quality, comfort and refinement the Santa Fe is great thanks to the large body and well-sorted suspension. It also seats seven people compared to five of most competitors. The Honda CRV is not at all bad and is very much competent, able and reliable but it has zero appeal and comes across a totally unexciting SUV due to its soft off road nature.
Honda CRV vs Chevrolet Captiva: The new Chevrolet Captiva surely does manage to captivate the audience with an all new front end and some changes to the interiors as well. The Honda CRV on the other hands comes with one of the best engines in the business and handles like a car making your off road experience quite easy.
Honda CRV vs Renault Koleos: The Renault Koleos is a new kid on the block which was launched just at the far end of 2011. The Renault Koleos is very much similar to the Honda CRV in the sense that both the SUV's handle like cars and stand out from the rest of the pack. However, they are still SUV's and seem to have forgotten the raw nature of SUV's. The Renault Koleos is styled better than the Honda CRV but the rear still looks ordinary. The Honda CRV engine is refined and interiors look good.
