Honda Brio made its debut in September 2011 with a price range of Rs 3.95 lakh to Rs 5.1 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has launched four variants of Honda Brio and all of them will be equipped with Honda's 1.2 Litre, 1198cc, i-VTEC petrol engine.
Honda Brio has been very impressive and is still going strong. This model from Honda's small car segment has the ability of low fuel consumption. Honda is a major shareholder in the Indian automotive market. The company has a range of customers throughout India. Japanese companies are trying to produce models with pioneering technology and be innovative at all times. This time the company has decided to export the model to other Asian countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal Bangladesh. Honda Brio is produced at Uttar Pradesh. Honda India now has shifted its focus to the small car segment in India. Using more than 80% locally procured parts, including the steel used is supplied by local production.
Honda Brio is a huge attraction to customers looking for spacious and luxurious interior to its compact exterior. The dashboard has all the features on the steering wheel. High mileage is a major attraction for the first model. Honda Brio looks very striking and the car headlights are very cute and give a more attractive with the logo on the front.
Honda Brio Engine
The Honda Brio comes with the same power packed technology as the Jazz engine. It is loaded with the superior 1.2 i VTEC Petrol Engine with a displacement of 1197 cc which is very much impressive. The engine has four cylinder engine based on the Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control which is very much common with other cars from the company such as Jazz. The engine is surely a solid performer with lots of credibility. The Volumetric Efficiency technology along with the combustion is expected to be a lot more enhanced with the advent of the Brio.
The simply powerful 1.2 i VTEC petrol engine of the Honda Brio generates a maximum power of 88 ps at 6000 rpm and a torque of about 109 Nm at 4800 rpm. The engine also has a superb pickup breaching the 100 km mark within a span of 14.5 seconds and delivers a top speed of about 164 Km/h at an effortless ease.
Honda Brio Exteriors
The car has one of a kind unique sculpture which is quiet simply looks eye catching from the rear with an all glass rear stalk. The Brio is also equipped with some shape defining aerodynamics and easily travels through the air without much fuss and cribbing. From the front, the Honda Brio is quite stylish and attractive in its own ways with the chrome strip and grille featuring the company logo at the centre. The Shoulder line of the vehicle is also not to be missed and the C- pillar flows towards the front edge at the top making for a complete delight. On the whole the headlamps and the tail lamps carry the aggressive look. The Brio gives a sturdy and bold look which is very much common with other cars from the Honda. With excellent side windings and somewhat taller pillar, Honda has also managed to differentiate the car from the sumptuous design of Jazz and that too with ease as it can be seen.
Honda Brio Interiors
The interiors of Honda Brio are very spacious; it is a boon for a small car of this segment. The design theme for interiors is very unique and comfortable for all passengers. Designed as per the needs of the customers, the Honda car is loaded with all necessary features. Single tone beige interior is provided in the initial three variants, whereas in the Honda Brio V MT, dual tone beige is used.
The Honda Brio car has enough headroom, legroom and shoulder room, which provides maximum comfort to the passenger. This car is spacious enough to accommodate five passengers comfortably along with small luggage. Brio’s interiors are expected to be perfect for five occupants with exotic interior trims employed. The refinements are sure to evoke your inner instinct to drive with pleasure. However the compact body design indicates that the car will have limited space. Honda Brio looks fresh, spacious and has a great visibility from inside the cabin. The rear legroom also seems to be good in this segment of cars priced between Rs. 4 Lakhs and Rs. 5 Lakhs.
Honda Brio Safety Features
When it is about safety of Honda Brio, Honda has left no stone unturned. Honda Brio comes with host of safety features like ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) and driver-side i-SRS airbag and SRS airbag for passenger. Incorporating Honda’s G-CON the Brio’s high-performance body makes extensive use of high tensile steel. The rear glass doubles up as the hatch door, it is made of high strength safety glass and will be as safe as a regular metal frame and windscreen. The front body structure of the Brio is equipped with Pedestrian injury mitigation technology designed to absorb impact energy.
Honda Brio Colors
The colors available with all variants of the Honda Brio are Tafeta White, Alabaster Silver, Titanium Grey Pearl, Emerald Blue, Crystal Black Pearl, and Energetic Blue.
Honda Brio Ride and Handling
Where this little Honda really, really impresses is in the ride and handling department. With its absolutely brilliantly damped suspension, driving over bumps, potholes and undulations is something you would barely notice. The only place where the Brio's engine shows its lower state of tune is in its top speed. With the torque dropping off sharply after its peak at 4,600rpm, the Brio runs out of steam after 142km/h when going for a top speed run. But when in the mood, the Brio’s the one to choose. With its willing top-end performance, confidence-inspiring brake pedal and eagerness to tackle corners, the Brio feels a special little car.
The Honda Brio rides on MacPherson struts up front and an H shaped torsion beam at the rear. The ride quality isn’t as good as the i20 and some road imperfections filter into the cabin. The car is very stable in high speed. The steering is impressive on its performance. The Brio handles bad roads quite effectively. You can push the Brio to its limits but it is still going to retain its confidence, poise and balance.
