Tata nano (Fuel Efficient Cars)
Tata Nano 2012
Tata Nano price: Rs. 1.40 1.96 lakhs
Tata Nano mileage: 26 kmpl
Tata Nano 2012 is a low cost car designed to give high fuel efficiency. It delivers mileage of around 19 kmpl at urban roads and 26kmpl on highways. Unfortunately the sales have been pretty Nano too so in a bid to boost the sales, the company has launched the small car Nano with a facelift. The new car has a more powerful engine and new features, with the same price.
The new Tata Nano 2012 has a 624cc engine which more robust and delivers an impressive 38 PS of power (earlier 35 PS) and 51 Nm of torque (earlier 48 Nm). In fact despite delivering more power, the car will surprisingly become more fuel efficient as well. The Nano will now give a mileage of 25.4 km per litre of petrol as certified by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) compared to 23.6 km a litre earlier.
The high fuel efficient car with a low kerb weight of 600 kg, also means that the Tata Nano 2012 at 92.7 gram per kilometre has the lowest CO2 (carbon dioxide) emission among cars in India. The three variants of the Tata Nano 2012 will continue to be available between Rs 1.40 lakh and Rs 1.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The company revealed that the Tata Nano 2012 will be studded with more features in the years to come. The entry-level variant of the Tata Nano 2012 will now have features like booster-assisted brakes, which were available only in the mid and top-end variants. The new features and improvisation should surely augur well when the sales of the car are falling in the last couple of months.
The company also plans to launch a diesel variant of Nano, which is expected soon. The Nano with a 25km mileage for a litre of fuel is more than enough for someone looking to buy a car for the first time. The car also complies with BS III and Euro IV emission standards. The Tata Nano 2012 surely makes your journey safer and lesser emissions mean you are actually helping to keep the environment a safer and better place to live in.
The company also launched a Tata Nano 2012 CNG showcased at the Delhi Auto show 2012 event. This means the cheapest car in the market is also now the safest and environment friendly car. If the CNG variant of the car is introduced in the market its ownership cost will be even more economical for the people. There was also a Nano with front disc brakes that had been put up on show at the Delhi Auto Expo.
The launch of a diesel version of Tata Nano 2012 is expected to deliver a record mileage of 40 km/litre, rendering it as most fuel efficient car in India. The running cost of Re.1 for a kilometer of a car drive is something which none of us could have even dreamt about. The Tata Nano 2012 Diesel will come with a two-cylinder, 700cc engine without compromising on fuel economy; and being complaint with BS IV emission standards.
