Ford Figo
Ford Figo is the first hatchback from the house of the Ford. The car is inspired from the same technology of the Ford Fiesta. The car is available in both the fuel variants of diesel and petrol. The gasoline cousin comes with a 1.2 Litre Duratec engine which delivers up to 70 bhp and the 1.4 Litre Duratorq diesel engine delivers up to 68 horse power. The car also has a unique design that makes it different from others and is yet quite contemporary in shape that is once again different from the rest of the pack. The insides of the car are the usual Ford combination of good quality materials and proportions. The Ford Figo easily seats up to five people while the boot space at the back easily envelopes everything including your shopping bags to the luggage packs during the long escapades. The car is also quiet good in terms of the ride and handling and makes it a perfect companion on the highways.

The car has won the ‘Car of the Year 2010’. It has won four Bloomberg UTV Autocar Awards. The Ford Figo was awarded 'Car of the Year Award 2011', 'Value for Money Car 2011' and 'Premium Compact Car'. Beside these it has also won the 'Viewers Choice Car of the Year 2011'.It has also won the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2011 which is given to a new vehicle after comprehensive testing by a jury of automobile journalists in India. The sales figures of the Ford Figo are also nothing short of awards. In 2009 " The company has recorded the sales of 83,887 units against a total of 29,488 cars sold in the 2009 in Indian market. The company is still getting a decent a decent demand for Ford Figo.
Ford Figo Exteriors
The car is inspired from Italy and the name Figo means "cool" in Italian. The front of the car is a signature Ford designed similar to the Ford Fiesta and Ikon in India. The car has a big front air dam below the grille which makes the Ford Figo look one of its kind along with an aggressive look. The car also has a unique design that makes it different from others and is yet quite contemporary in shape that is once again different from the rest of the pack. The car has good stability with a solid stance. The interiors are large and vibrant with a dash of youthful character. The overall package of the car is rightly built for the market which suites the congested urban driving conditions. It has modern headlamps, grille shapes and sculpted bonnet on its distinctive face to the subtle integrated spoiler and chamfered window shape at the rear. The large side window shape is also something that will make you stand up and take notice of the kinetic design feature hinting at the comfort and spaciousness awaiting the occupants of both the front and the rear.

The Ford Figo has a seating capacity of five and the boot space at the back can brace for any luggage right from your shopping bags to the luggage for a weekend gateway. The Ford Figo is the best in class in terms of space next only to the Honda Jazz. The car comes in two different interior finishes of Coral IP theme and Ebony Black looking to appeal to both the youth and people looking for class and aesthetics.
Ford Figo Engine Specifications
The car comes in 8 variants in India. The petrol variants are powered by 1.2 Duratec engine while the diesel variants are powered by 1.4 Duratorq engines. The petrol engine with SEFI technology delivers a power of 70 bhp at 6,250 rpm and a torque of 102 Nm at 4000 rpm. The CRDi (Common Rail Diesel Engine) stirs up a power of 68 bhp at 4,000 rpm and a torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm. All the engines have a 5-speed Manual Transmission gearbox for smooth movement of the car. The engine is all-aluminum which is Bharat Stage IV compliant. This is possible due to the long stroke cylinder dimensions. The car performs equally well on both the city and highway road conditions. The engines are surely a value for money which also returns with good fuel economy figures.
Ford Figo Safety Features
The Ford Figo is a complete safe house with numerous safety testing conditions under its belt. The car is a winner in the hatchback segment with its dual front airbags and Anti-lock Braking System and EBD. This means that handling the car is a comfortable riding experience. It also has intelligent central locking, engine immobilizer (PATS) and a 3 point seatbelts for front and rear seats. It has a Rapid Deceleration Warning system that, at speeds greater than 96 kmph, activates the hazard warning lamps and warns trailing drivers about the sudden brakes.
The car has also some unique features like the Radio Data System (RDS) which is a communications protocol for embedding small amounts of information in conventional FM radio broadcasts. This means that now you can see the name of the song being played right up to weather, news alerts depending on the radio station. Then there is the usual comforts like the Bluetooth connectivity, Spacious interiors, Bigger trunk, Excellent Cooling from AC as it has got a extra large compressor (155 cc), Solid built, Dual airbags, Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) etc.
