Upgraded Version Of Maruti Swift To Be Launched in 2011

     Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) recently proclaimed that, it will launch an upgraded model of Maruti Swift in the forthcoming year (2011). It was launched in 2005 as a global muscular car, now the company is moving towards upgraded version of it; Maruti is also planning to launch upgraded model of Dzire which is the best-selling sedan in Indian market. Swift was awarded the Frost & Sullivan 2010 Aspirational Car of the Year Award in Segment B and it is one of the best selling cars from the largest car maker of India. The reason behind this decision is to increase the production of Manesar, Gurgaon plants in the future. The company is also planning to transfer the production of Maruti Swift to Manesar plant. 


     

    Managing Executive Officer (Production) of Maruti Suzuki Mr. M.M. Singh said that, Maruti Suzuki India plans to completely shift Maruti Dzire and Maruti Swift manufacturing to Manesar to increase the output. The sedan plant will shift by July, 2011 and hatchback will still take some more time.

     

    MSIL is targeting 30 of sales growth by the upcoming financial- Currently the company is manufacturing more than Maruti Dzire and 12,000 Maruti Swift per month. Although the production is good they are getting advance bookings, customers have to wait for 3-4 months to get Swift where as for to get Dzire Customers have to wait 4-5 months. This shows the demand for Maruti Swift and Swift Dzire in Indian market.
