The Audi Q5 is a compact crossover SUV released for the 2009 year. It is made from the new Audi MLP platform (Modular Longitudinal Platform). The Q5 is the second Audi model in the "Q" range, after the full-size Q7. The Q5 fits between the new Q3, which is based on the Volkswagen Tiguan. Audi Q5 in India comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0L turbocharged petrol and diesel engines come with a six speed manual gearbox. There is also a 3.0L V6 diesel engine with a seven-speed twin-clutched semi-auto transmission.

The DOHC2.0L, 1984 cc engine delivers a maximum output of 155 KW at 4300 – 6000 RPM and maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1500 – 4200 RPM. The diesel variant of Audi Q5, 3.0 TDI Quattro is a 2967cc V6-cylinder engine with turbo charger and common rail technology with a maximum output of 176 KW at 4000 –4400RPM and a maximum torque of 500NM at 1500 – 3000 RPM.

The 2.0T’s acceleration is more than acceptable. You'll have more fun driving it than you will any other car in the class. The quattro AWD system adds enough off-road prowesses to satisfy all but the hardcore. Even with the regular tyres shod on the Q5, it handles dirt tracks with great aplomb. Steering feedback isn’t bad for the type of car, either. On the flipside, the rear seat is designed more for 2 rather than 3 adults.
